The Kings Road Coronation Party

As part of the Royal Borough, it is only fitting that the King’s Road hosts a day of extraordinary celebrations for the Coronation of King Charles. Save Saturday, 6 May in your diaries for the King’s Road Coronation Party!

You are invited to join us from 11am to 5.30pm on Saturday, 6 May where along the King’s Road, pedestrianised from Sloane Square to Cheltenham Terrace, we will be coming together to mark this historical occasion beneath swathes of joyful bunting with a day of fun for families and friends alike.

Expect live music and entertainment inspired by the King’s passions, each captured by the ‘plein air’ artists, painting the atmosphere as celebrations unfold. The Royal Hospital’s Chelsea Pensioners will be marching and over 100 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels will parade the King’s Road, coordinated by local business Love My Human. And, expect plenty of surprises from neighbourhood cultural institutions, including The Chelsea Arts Club, the Saatchi Gallery and Peter Jones.

Discover new artisanal favourites from a ‘sustainable food champions’ market, extending the Weekly Fine Food Market out on to the King’s Road. A bar from The Cadogan Arms as well as coffee from Vita Boutique will provide plenty of opportunity for celebratory toasts and treats, whilst visitors can picnic on the Green opposite the Saatchi Gallery or on our giant feasting table (part of The Big Lunch). Plus, enjoy themed cocktails and dishes from many local restaurants, bars and cafes for the special occasion (details below).

It doesn’t stop there! There will be an enormous floral installation of the Royal Crest and Coronation emblem (in place from 25 April to 14 May 2023), offering a suitably regal backdrop to capture photos of the special day, at Royal Avenue on the King’s Road, with even more celebrations a short stroll down the road, at Dovehouse Green.

Find the full programme of entertainment along the King’s Road here and at Dovehouse Green here, and discover how your favourite businsess are also celebrating here. Free to attend, suitable for all ages.
