Felixstowe fair Art on the Prom returns to seafront after four-year hiatus as part of Love Felixstowe festival

Enthusiasts should take note as a popular arts fair is set to make its triumphant return after a four-year hiatus.

Art on the Prom, which will form part of the Love Felixstowe festival, will once again take place in the seaside town.

On September 3, the fair returns for its 17th event, which allows both professional and hobbyist artists to display and sell their work at the town’s promenade, by the pier.

Art on the Prom last took place in 2019. The 2020 event was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and it didn’t return in 2021 or 2022.

The organisers thanked Felixstowe BID and East Suffolk Council for their help in bringing the event back.

They partnered with Art Eat Events CIC, which will host the fair.

Iona Hodgson, from Art Eat, said the day will offer a wealth of activities, including music, food, street entertainment and family activities.

Applications are open to anyone who wishes to sell their work at the fair.

Ms Hodgson noted the organisers were particularly keen to encourage young people from the area to display their work.

She said: “This year’s event will look very similar to previous years in terms of footprint. As always, it will be based around fencing panels placed along the promenade from the pier to Spa Gardens, where work will be displayed.
